Portsmouth City Council (Torrington Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.138) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 25th August 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
TORRINGTON ROAD
In its entirety.
RANDOLPH ROAD
From its junction with Torrington Road to its junction with Battenburg Avenue.
COMPTON ROAD
In its entirety.
WINDERMERE ROAD
From its junction with Amberley Road to its junction with Merrivale Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 25th August 2025 to 25th August 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
London Road, Merrivale Road, Copnor Road, Madeira Road, Randolph Road; and
Copnor Road, Merrivale Road, London Road; and
Torrington Road, Copnor Road, Madeira Road, Compton Road, Randolph Road; and Torrington Road, Copnor Road, Battenburg Avenue; and
Randolph Road, Madeira Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
