Portsmouth City Council (Castle Road Markets) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Suspension of Loading Restriction) (No.90) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.
The Order comes into operation from 31st May 2025 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING
CASTLE ROADÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â From outside No. 67 to outside No. 87.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NO LOADING (BETWEEN 16:00 AND 17:00)
CASTLE ROADÂ Â Â Â Â Â From outside No. 67 to outside No. 87.
C) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (NO ACCESS FOR CYCLES OR VEHICLES, EXCEPT FOR LOADING FOR THE EVENT BETWEEN 7:30 – 10:00)
CASTLE ROADÂ Â Â Â Â From outside No. 67 to outside No. 87.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Castle Road Market events.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
Castle Road Community Association Antiques Market: From 07:30 to 17:00 on Saturday 31st May 2025 and 07:30 to 17:00 on Sunday 1st June 2025 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
Castle Road Community Association Food Market: From 07:30 to 17:00 on Saturday 28th June 2025 and 07:30 to 17:00 on Sunday 29th June 2025 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
F) DIVERSION
No through road. Cycles to follow diversion or dismount.
Cycles will be diverted from Castle Road – Southsea Terrace – Bellevue Terrace – Hambrook Street – Castle Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the event.
