Portsmouth City Council (Norway Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.41) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 3rd March 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
NORWAY ROAD (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Norway Road Accessway To Rugby Camp Pavilion to Copnor Road.
B) TEMPORARY BANNED LEFT TURN
COPNOR ROAD
Into Norway Road.
GUNSTORE ROAD
Into Norway Road.
FARMSIDE GARDENS
Into Norway Road.
EXIT FROM LIDL STORE
Into Norway Road.
C) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
COPNOR ROAD
Into Norway Road.
MERLIN DRIVE
Into Norway Road.
KESTREL ROAD
Into Norway Road.
NORWAY ROAD ACCESSWAY TO RUGBY CAMP PAVILION
Into Norway Road.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 3rd March 2025 to 13th March 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Saturday from 19:00 to 06:00. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
F) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Copnor Road, Old London Road, London Road, Copnor Road, Burrfields Road, Dundas Lane, Quartremaine Road, Airport Service Road, Williams Road, Norway Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
