Portsmouth City Council (Godwit Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.36) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 2nd March 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
GODWIT ROAD
From its junction with Moorings Way for 20 metres.
SCHOONER WAY
From its junction with Moorings Way for 20 metres.
SANDERLING ROAD
From its junction with Moorings Way for 20 metres.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
GODWIT ROAD
In its entirety.
MAYFLOWER DRIVE
In its entirety.
WAYFARER CLOSE
In its entirety.
REVENGE CLOSE
In its entirety.
ATALANTA CLOSE
In its entirety.
SEAGULL CLOSE
In its entirety.
SCHOONER WAY
In its entirety.
SOVEREIGN DRIVE
In its entirety.
SANDERLING ROAD
From its junction with Moorings Way to Godwit Road, on both sides.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 2nd March 2026 to 26th February 2027 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
Moorings Way, Schooner Way, Godwit Road.
Schooner Way, Godwit Road, Sanderling Road, Moorings Way.
Sanderling Road, Godwit Road, Schooner Way, Moorings Way.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
