Portsmouth City Council (Castle Road Centenary Event) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Suspension of Loading Restriction) (No.84) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.
The Order comes into operation from 26th April 2026 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING
CASTLE ROAD
From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NO LOADING (BETWEEN 16:00 AND 17:00)
CASTLE ROAD
From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
C) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (NO ACCESS FOR CYCLES OR VEHICLES, EXCEPT FOR LOADING FOR THE EVENT BETWEEN 8:30 – 10:30)

From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Castle Road Centenary event.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 08:30 to 18:00 on 26th April 2026 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, the event will take place between 10:30 to 17:00.
F) DIVERSION
No through road. Cycles to follow diversion or dismount.
Cycles will be diverted from Castle Road – Southsea Terrace – Bellevue Terrace – Hambrook Street – Castle Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the event.
