Portsmouth City Council (GD Parking Zone) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.19) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has given a direction under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 for the above Order to be continuing in force for a further period.

The Order comes into operation from 26th January 2026 and the effect will be as follows:

A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
POWERSCOURT ROAD In its entirety.
QUEENS ROAD In its entirety.
WINCHESTER ROAD In its entirety.
ST STEPHENS ROAD In its entirety.
BALLIOL ROAD In its entirety.
TORONTO ROAD In its entirety.
BINSTEED ROAD In its entirety.
PINK ROAD In its entirety.
LANGLEY ROAD In its entirety.
LYNN ROAD In its entirety.
AYLESBURY ROAD In its entirety.
CARNARVON ROAD In its entirety.
BYRON ROAD In its entirety.
TENNYSON ROAD In its entirety.
PERCIVAL ROAD In its entirety.
WHITWORTH ROAD In its entirety.
STATION ROAD In its entirety.
STAPLETON ROAD In its entirety.
MANOR PARK AVENUE In its entirety.
COLLIS ROAD In its entirety.
NEW ROAD EAST In its entirety.
CYPRUS ROAD In its entirety.
MALTA ROAD In its entirety.
JERSEY ROAD In its entirety.
NORTHGATE AVENUE In its entirety.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

COPNOR ROAD
From its junction with Queens Road to its junction with New Road (on both sides).

NEW ROAD
From its junction with Copnor Road to its junction with Carnarvon Road (on both sides).

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate lining works for GD Parking Zone.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 26th January 2026 to 31st March 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents and businesses in advance of works taking place.
This Order is extended for a further period to 31st May 2026, or completion of works, whichever is sooner.

E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted around each works as approved for the permit for each works within the GD Parking Zone programme of works.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
