Portsmouth City Council (Portsmouth Pride Parade) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.100) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.
The Order comes into operation from 6th June 2026 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (PARADE ROUTE)
BROAD STREET
Between its junction with West Street and High Street.
Duration: 11:45 – 12:00
HIGH STREET Between its junction with Broad Street and Pembroke Road.
Duration: 11:45 – 12:00
PEMBROKE ROAD Between its junction with High Street and Gordon Road.
Duration: 12:00 – 12:15
GORDON ROAD
Between its junction with Pembroke Road and Pier Road.
Duration: 12:15 – 12:30
PIER ROAD
Between its junction with Duisburg Way and Bellevue Terrace.
Duration: 12:25 – 12:30
DUISBURG WAY
Between its junction with Pier Road and Western Parade.
Duration: 12:30 – 12:45
CLARENCE PARADE
Between its junction with Duisburg Way and Serpentine Way.
Duration: 12:45 – 13:00
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING
BROAD STREET
Between its junction with Tower Alley for a distance of 150m on the South side only.
Duration: 07:00 – 11:45
BROAD STREET
Between White Hart Road and opposite Battery Row (From No. 69 – 71 High Street) North Side Only.
Duration: 07:00 – 11:45
HIGH STREET
Between opposite Battery Row and Oyster Street (From No. 71- 81 High Street) North Side Only.
Duration: 07:00 – 11:45
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Portsmouth Pride Parade and event.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 07:00 to 13:00 on 6th June 2026 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, the parade will take place between 11:45 to 13:00. Roads will reopen after the parade has passed at the discretion of the Highways Authority or their agents when deemed safe to do so.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will follow the parade. Roads will reopen after the parade has passed. Each closure along the route is anticipated to be no longer than 15 minutes duration.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the event.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the event.
