Portsmouth City Council (Castle Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.15) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 17th January 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
CASTLE ROAD
From its junction with Hambrook Street to its junction with Southsea Terrace.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate works for raised pedestrian area.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 17th January 2026 to 31st March 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Cycles will be diverted from Hambrook Street, Bellevue Terrace, Southsea Terrace and vice versa.
Vehicle access will be maintained under marshal control.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
