Portsmouth City Council (D-Day 80) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.69) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police and Secretary of State.

The Order comes into operation from Tuesday 4th June 2024 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING

CLARENCE ESPLANADE
From its junction with Clarence Pier Road to its junction with Jack Cockerill Way.

AVENUE DE CAEN
In its entirety.

CLARENCE PARADE
In its entirety.

DUISBURG WAY
In its entirety.

JACK COCKERILL WAY
In its entirety.

SERPENTINE WAY
In its entirety.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate the D-Day 80 event.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 23:59 on Tuesday 4th June 2024 to 06:00 on Thursday 6th June 2024 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.

D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Clarendon Road, Osborne Road, Portland Road, Kent Road, Southsea Terrace and Southsea Terrace, Kent Road, Portland Road, Osborne Road, Clarendon Road.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be diverted around the closures.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the event.
