Portsmouth City Council (Race for Life and Pretty Muddy) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.73) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”), as agreed by the Secretary of State for Transport, by authority of section 16B of the 1984 Act.

The Order comes into operation from 29th June 2024 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ROAD CLOSURE AND LOADING AND WAITING

CLARENCE ESPLANADE
From its junction with Jack Cockerill Way (west of its entrance to Pyramids car park) to east of the D-Day car park (240m west of its junction with Avenue de Caen).

AVENUE DE CAEN
In its entirety.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate the Race for Life and Pretty Muddy events.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 0700 on Saturday 29th June 2024 until 1500 on Sunday 30th June 2024, or completion of the event, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, the restrictions will be in place from 0700 to 1500 on each day.

D) DIVERSION
Vehicles (including cyclists) diverted from Jack Cockerill Way to Clarence Parade to Duisburg Way to Pier Road to Clarence Esplanade and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
