The Portsmouth City Council (Mardi Gras) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) (No.75) Order 2024

Portsmouth City Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding in the roads and the lengths of roads set out below on Saturday 29th June 2024.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (ROLLING CLOSURE)

From 14:30 to 16:30, or at the discretion of the Highway Authority or its agents. Roads will reopen when it is deemed safe to do so. The parade will take less than 15 minutes to pass between any two junctions.

1. WIMBLEDON PARK ROAD
In its entirety.

2. DUNCAN ROAD
Between its junction with Wimbledon Park Road and St Vincent Road.

3. ST VINCENT ROAD
Between its junction with Duncan Road and Victoria Road South.

4. VICTORIA ROAD SOUTH
Between its junction with St Vincent Road and Albert Road.

5. ALBERT ROAD
Between its junction with Victoria Road South and St Ronans Road.

6. ST RONANS ROAD
Between its junction with Albert Road and Welch Road.

7. WELCH ROAD
Between its junction with St Ronans Road and Herberts Road.

8. HERBERT ROAD
In its entirety.

9. WIMBLEDON PARK ROAD
Between its junction with Waverley Road and Lowcay Road.

REASON FOR THE ORDER
The above restrictions are necessary for the safe passage of the Mardi Gras event.

DIVERSION
A rolling road closure will be in place. Traffic will follow the parade and roads will be re-opened when considered safe to do so.
