Portsmouth City Council (Hilsea Sea Defence) (Temporary Footpath Closure) (No.133) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 7th October 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE (INCLUDING SHARED CYCLEPATH)
PERONNE ROAD FOOTBRIDGE
From its junction with Tudor Crescent to Peronne Road.
LONDON ROAD FOOTPATH EAST OF PARKING AREA NORTH OF GARAGE
From its junction with Portsbridge Roundabout Subway and Ramps on East Side passing beneath M27 Motorway to London Road Footbridge.
HAWTHORN CRESCENT FOOTBRIDGE SOUTH OF A27 CROSSING PORTS CREEK
From north side to south side of Ports Creek.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Hilsea Sea Defence works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 7th October 2024 to 7th April 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Cycles to follow cycle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian route.
London Road Hilsea Footpath – Portsbridge Roundabout Subway and Ramps on East Side passing beneath M27 Motorway (Follow Main Diversion)
Perronne Road Footbridge – Tudor Crescent, The Old Road, Highbury Way (Follow Main Diversion)
Highbury Grove footbridge – Highbury Grove, Highbury Way (Follow Main Diversion)
Main diversion – Portsmouth Road North Bound, Portsmouth Road South Bound, Northern Road North Bound, Northern Road South Bound, Western Road Access Road Side of Lynx House Northern Road, Western Road Footpath Underpass, North of Portsbridge Roundabout, Portsbridge Roundabout Footpath on West Side leading North to Western Road Underpass, Coastal Footpath North of Hilsea Lido, Twyford Avenue Coastal Promenade leading North to Hilsea Lido, London Road Access Road to Hilsea Lido, London Road Footbridge, London Road, Military Road and vice versa.
