Portsmouth City Council (Castle Road Christmas Markets) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Suspension of Loading Restriction) (No.172) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.
The Order comes into operation from 30th November 2024 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING
CASTLE ROAD
From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NO LOADING (BETWEEN 16:00 AND 17:00)
CASTLE ROAD
From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
C) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (NO ACCESS FOR CYCLES OR VEHICLES, EXCEPT FOR LOADING FOR THE EVENT BETWEEN 7:30 – 10:00)

From outside No. 68 to outside No. 87.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Castle Road Christmas Markets events.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 07:30 to 17:00 on Saturday 30th November 2024 and 07:30 to 17:00 on Sunday 1st December 2024 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
F) DIVERSION
No through road. Cycles to follow diversion or dismount.
Cycles will be diverted from Castle Road – Southsea Terrace – Kent Street – Queens Crescent – Queen’s Place – St Edwards Road – Castle Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the event.
