Portsmouth City Council (Portsmouth Pride) (Temporary Road Closure) (No.80) Order 2024
Portsmouth City Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding in the roads and the lengths of roads as set out below.
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
SOUTHSEA ESPLANADE
Between its junction with Canoe Lake Car Park Entrance (Southsea Esplanade Parking Area West of Lumps Fort) and The Ocean at the End of the Lane.
Between its junction with The Ocean at the End of the Lane and South Parade.
SOUTH PARADE
Between its junction with Southsea Esplanade and The Dell.
CLARENCE ESPLANADE
Between its junction with The Dell and Jack Cockerill Way.
Between its junction with Jack Cockerill Way and Avenue de Caen
Between its junction with Avenue De Caen and Serpentine Way
Between its junction with Serpentine Way and Clarence Pier Road (Eastbound carriageway)
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Portsmouth Pride event.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 10:45 to 13:30 on Saturday 6th July 2024, or at the discretion of the Highway Authority or its agents. Roads will reopen when it is deemed safe to do so.
D) DIVERSION
Traffic will follow the parade. Vehicles will be diverted from St Georges Road – Eastern Parade – St Helens Parade – Granada Road – Burgoyne Road – South Parade – Clarence Parade – Duisburg Way – Pier Road.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained/diverted around the event.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the event.
