Motorcycles can park for free in a number of places around the city, including:

  • Portsmouth City Council pay and display car parks (but not permit holder car parks), as long as they park completely within a marked bay,
  • on-street pay and display areas, except where indicated (check signs at the location),
  • residents’ parking zones, for as long as required.

Car parks

These car parks have bays marked specifically for motorcycles:

  • Ashby Place,
  • Clarence Pier,
  • D-Day (seafront),
  • Guildhall Walk,
  • The Harbour,
  • London Road and
  • Seafront The Esplanade

Parking restrictions

Motorcycles must follow normal restrictions in non-permitted limited waiting bays. They may not park on:

  • double or single yellow lines,
  • taxi ranks,
  • bus stops,
  • disabled bays, and
  • loading bays.
