This policy explains how Portsmouth Homes supports residents who may need help to leave their home safely in an emergency.

Residents who may find it difficult to evacuate can be offered a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA). Where appropriate, this can lead to a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP), setting out the safest way to leave the building and any support needed.

PEEPs may be considered for residents with mobility, sensory, cognitive or medical needs, including temporary conditions. We work with residents to identify support needs, keep information up to date and share information with emergency services where appropriate.

Residents should tell us if they need help in an emergency and let us know if their circumstances change.
