Residents can apply for a parking permit for certain types of vehicles, including company vehicles, and private lease and shared vehicles.

Company vans and commercial vehicles

Permits are available if you own the vehicle or if it is the only vehicle at your property. Vehicles used for regular emergency callouts outside of your usual working pattern may also qualify. In these cases, you must provide:

  • a dated, headed letter from your line manager explaining: the purpose of the callouts, the vehicle’s make, model and registration number, your name and the permit address
  • three months of evidence of emergency call outs outside of your usual working pattern

An example of an emergency call out may be to attend to a gas or water leak.

In some circumstances, we may also require additional evidence such as a contract or payslip.

Only vehicles with a weight of less than 3,501kg can qualify for a permit.

You can apply online for your company van or commercial vehicle.

Company cars and taxis

Permits can be issued for company cars, and taxis/private hire vehicles.

You will need to provide a copy of the lease/hire agreement, or a letter on company headed paper showing:

  • driver’s name
  • address
  • vehicle registration number
  • vehicle make and model
  • lease/hire period

Proof of address is also required.

In some circumstances, we may also require additional evidence.
