When parking in a disabled parking bay, you need to display either a valid Blue Badge or a disabled parking bay permit.

Relatives and carers cannot use disabled parking bays, unless they are transporting the disabled person or they hold their own valid blue badge.

You can leave your vehicle in the disabled bay with the permit on display and use your blue badge in a different vehicle if you’re being taken to the shops or attending a medical appointment.

Reporting people parking in your bay illegally

Once the ‘disabled badge holders only’ sign is installed, the bay becomes legally enforceable.

You can report any vehicle parked without displaying a valid Blue Badge to our Traffic Management Centre:

A Civil Enforcement Officer will visit, and may issue a Penalty Charge Notice if no valid badge is displayed. We cannot remove a vehicle from a bay.
