The Work and Health Programme helps people with health conditions, disabilities, and complex challenges find meaningful employment.
Portsmouth City Council delivers the programme in partnership with Seetec Pluss, with co-financing from the European Social Fund.
Programme results
Since the programme launched in 2018, it exceeded our expectations and changed lives:
- we achieved 70% success rate
- 1412 people started the programme and 1001 achieved their personal employment outcomes
What made it work
The programme offered personalised support through initiatives like:
- SAFE New Futures
- DWP’s Work and Health Job Club
- Community Learning Service at The Learning Place
This support helped people build confidence, gain practical skills and regain a sense of purpose.
