re:work is a free employment support service from Portsmouth City Council, designed for people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. It’s available across Portsmouth and the south Hampshire region.

The service is based on the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment, which is recognised for effectively helping people find and keep their jobs as part of the recovery.

Who can get support

You can access re:work if you’re of working age, and in structured treatment for drug and/or alcohol use.

We accept referrals from:

  • Society of St James in Portsmouth
  • Hampshire NHS Inclusion teams in Fareham, Gosport, Havant, the Isle Of Wight, New Forest, Eastleigh, Winchester, Andover, Aldershot and Basingstoke.

How re:work helps

Our team of employment specialists works with employers to create employment opportunities across the south Hampshire area. This free service supports both jobseekers and employers.

We:

  • match your previous skills and experience with job vacancies
  • work to ensure employers interview highly-enthusiastic people eager to work
  • arrange job trials where possible
  • provide in-work support to help you succeed
  • provide ongoing support to employers
