Market stalls
We run Portsmouth Markets in two locations:
- Portsmouth city centre – Thursday to Saturday every week
- Cosham High Street – Monday every week
Both markets are popular with steady footfall. We’re also working on a new five-year plan to bring in more variety of traders, including event-style markets.

Markets in Palmerston Road are run by independent providers.
- Love Southsea – a market for artists, artisans and entrepreneurs.
- South West Surrey Farmers Market – a market for local sourced food and associated products.
Concessional Pitch
Concessional pitches are permanent locations used throughout the week – they tend to be used by companies selling products like fast and convenient food. Pitches can be found across the city, including car parks, town centres, roadside lay-bys and the seafront.

Event and promotion space
We offer promotional spaces in busy areas across the city, including Palmerston Road, Portsmouth city centre and Cosham High Street. You can use these spaces to hand out leaflets, showcase your product and service, or run a public event to raise your business profile.

Before trading, you’ll need to apply for a street trading consent and make sure you have the correct license to sell your product or service.
