You can buy visitor parking permits so friends or family can park near your home when they visit. You can also buy visitor permits for tradespeople if their vehicle’s gross weight is less than 3,501kg.
Visitor permits cannot be used where permit applications have been refused, or when a vehicle is not eligible for a resident permit.
Businesses are not allowed to buy or use visitor permits for their staff or visitors.
Register online to buy visitor parking permits
To buy permits for your visitors, you’ll need to register your home or mobile number on RingGo. Registering can take up to 48 hours. Only residents can buy visitor permits. Your visitors can’t buy them.
To register for a RingGo visitor permit account, you’ll need to show proof of address, for example:
- a current council tax bill
- your lease or rental agreement
- a utility bill no older than 3 months
There are two different visitor permits currently available:
- 12-hour permit: £1.15
- 24-hour permit: £2.20
