Neighbourhood services – gardening scheme

To be eligible for the scheme you must:

• Be over the state retirement age or be registered as disabled
• Be in receipt of Housing Benefit
• Be physically unable to maintain the garden yourselves
• Have no one able bodied who could reasonably be expected to help you

If it’s your first time accessing the scheme, we’ll visit your property and agree with you what work is needed. Then, once you’ve already used the service, you’ll contact us each time you need help.

It’s also important to keep us updated on any changes to circumstances or restrictions on access to your property.

Note – we might not be able to see to your garden straight away as our teams also have to maintain communal areas across all our housing estates, but we’ll try to be as quick as we can, and we’ll let you know when to expect us.

If you no longer qualify for the scheme or you haven’t used it in a long time, we’ll take you off the list to make space for tenants needing the service.
