About the project

Portsmouth Homes is carrying out a planned maintenance project at Sarah Robinson House to improve building safety and address maintenance items within the block of flats. This work aligns with our responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005 and Fire Safety Act 2021 to reduce risks while ensuring compliance with new safety regulations.

From early 2027, we need to carry out the following improvements to your block:

  • New property entrance and communal doors
  • New Evacuation Alert System
  • New firefighting equipment
  • Refurbishment of WCs within homes
  • Replacement of some communal windows
  • Removal of asbestos
  • Redecoration of the communal areas
  • Replacement of flooring to communal areas
  • Extractor fan upgrades
  • Replacement of water mains pipework

Resident engagement sessions took place in April 2026. You can view the presentation we shared with residents.

One-to-one meetings are being arranged. You can book one by emailing decants@portsmouthcc.gov.uk or calling 023 9284 1674.
