If you receive a reminder, it means you have not paid your Council Tax on time. The reminder will tell you how much you owe. If you do not pay within seven days, you will lose the option to pay by instalments and you will need to pay the full balance for the year.

If you are unable to pay because you do not have enough money, you may be able to get help through the Council Tax Support Scheme.

If you need help or your circumstances have changed, please email the Council Tax team at localtaxation@portsmouthcc.gov.uk. Our phone lines are very busy, so email is the quickest way to contact us. Please include as much information as possible, especially if you would like us to consider a payment plan.

You will receive an email confirming we have received your message. No recovery action will be taken while you are waiting for a response or if you are issued with a new Council Tax bill.

You can also contact us using our online form, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
