If you miss a Council Tax instalment, we will send you a reminder notice explaining what you need to pay and the date your payment must reach us.
If you still do not pay after receiving the reminder notice, your account may be taken to the Magistrates’ Court. If this happens, we will add recovery costs to your account. These costs include:
- £90.00 for issuing the summons, and
- £5.00 for the liability order made by the court
These amounts cover the fees we must pay to the Magistrates’ Court and the cost of the work we carry out to recover the unpaid Council Tax. They will be added to the amount you already owe.
