Bins are only allowed on the pavement on the collection day and the evening before (after 7pm). If your recycling bin is on the pavement outside of these hours, it’ll be replaced with a smaller bin or box.
Before this happens, you would’ve received a warning letter in your letterbox.
What you can do
You can use your new recycling container(s) straight away and we hope you find the smaller container will be more practical to take off the pavement at the end of your collection day.
If you think it’s still too big, you can request a smaller bin online to replace your current one, however we will not replace it with a bigger one.
If you can’t fit all your recycling in your new container, you can choose one of the following:
- place extra recyclable items in a cardboard box (not in bags) next to your recycling container on collection day
- request a recycling box online to use alongside your recycling bin
