Local authorities across southern Hampshire have come together as the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH) to plan the region’s future over the next 20 years.

Over the past 40 years, South Hampshire has grown into the largest urban area in southern England outside London. PUSH was formed in response to the South East England Regional Assembly’s requirement for a long-term strategic plan for Hampshire and other counties in the South East.

What PUSH does

PUSH’s sub-regional strategy addresses cross-boundary issues such as:

  • the types and distribution of employment
  • broad patterns of housing development
  • regeneration of Southampton, Portsmouth, and other urban areas
  • building on the region’s strengths and promoting sustainable growth
