dog in kennel

Want to buy something for the dogs in our kennels?

Check out our Amazon wish list. Any donations you can make are hugely appreciated! Or you can buy the same products from somewhere locally and drop them into the kennels (and say hello to the dogs while you’re there if you want!)

What we do

Stray dogs can cause many problems such as causing serious road accidents or biting a child, as well as being stressful for the owner of the lost dog.

Our kennels team assist the public by taking in or collecting stray dogs that are found in Portsmouth, they assess the dog’s condition and care for them in our modern kennels facility until contact with the owner can be made. Most of our dogs are successfully returned to their owners, but if no owner comes forward then we also work hard to re-home the dogs in our care.

You can also read more on our website about dog control orders and penalties for dog fouling.

Re-homing dogs

If a dog is not claimed after seven days, it can legally be re-homed. Kennel staff and volunteers work hard to prepare dogs for re-homing. If you are interested in re-homing a dog, email or leave a message on the re-homing line 023 9268 8091.
