There are several car parks along the seafront, but these can fill up quickly at busy times.
Disabled parking bays are available in many seafront car parks and on surrounding roads. You can park in disabled parking bays on street or in public car parks if you have a Blue Badge.
Overflow parking may be opened on Southsea Common. This is limited to a small number of days each year to help protect the common as an important green space, so we plan to use this on weekends we know will be very busy.
If you are planning to drive, particularly during major events, please check ahead before you travel. Road closures, parking suspensions and temporary restrictions may be in place along the seafront.
Parking rules are in place to keep the seafront safe and accessible for everyone:
- follow signage and restrictions
- use designated parking areas
- avoid blocking access routes
We enforce parking rules through regular patrols and issue penalty notices where needed. We’ve also installed bollards and other physical measures to prevent unauthorised parking on green spaces and in other restricted areas.
You can report parking issues.
