About the proposed order

We consulted on a proposed PSPO for Wimbledon Park and Waverley Gardens. PSPOs help ensure public spaces can be enjoyed by everyone and are free from antisocial behaviour.

The PSPO would:

  • ban drinking alcohol in these areas
  • ban loud music
  • prohibit public urination

Portsmouth City Council already has neighbourhood wardens patrolling key areas to help keep residents safe and supported.

If a PSPO is introduced, police and neighbourhood wardens would have the power to ask people to leave the area if needed. In some cases, a fine of up to £100 could be issued.
