We’re working with Streetwave to map mobile network coverage across Portsmouth. Using specialist equipment on waste collection vehicles and walkabout testing in busy public areas like shopping precincts, the seafront, and other key locations, we’re creating a real-world picture of mobile connectivity.

Strong digital infrastructure helps residents:

  • stay connected
  • access essential services
  • feel safe in public spaces

Streetwave carries out real-world signal tests, not just computer-based modelling, to provide more accurate results. This sets them apart from Ofcom and mobile operators. Using Samsung Galaxy devices mounted on vehicles, Streetwave measures actual outdoor signal strength and speeds across Portsmouth.

Streetwave displays results for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs): EE, O2, and VodafoneThree. If your provider isn’t listed, it’s likely a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) using one of these networks. You can see which network your MVNO is using by going to the uSwitch website.
