Booking your civil ceremony at an approved venue

On this page, you’ll find the map and a full list of venues approved to hold marriage and civil partnership ceremonies in Portsmouth. There’s also information for venues who wish to become approved ceremony venues.

Portsmouth has a wonderful selection of approved venues, from historic warships to hotels, theatres and museums. Once you’ve provisionally booked the venue of your choice, check with Portsmouth register office that a registrar will be able to attend on your chosen date, and discuss a time for the ceremony. The registrars will advise you of their fees to attend the venue and officiate at your ceremony; the venue will advise you of their fees separately.

Room capacities must include: the couple, guests, two registrars, venue staff, and photographers or musicians.

We can only assist with marriages and civil partnerships taking place in Portsmouth (PO1 to PO6). For other areas, contact the register office in that district.
