Booking your civil ceremony at an approved venue

Find approved venues, check availability with registrars, and plan your civil ceremony in Portsmouth.

Once you’ve provisionally booked your venue of your choice, contact Portsmouth register office to check that a registrar is available to attend on your chosen date and to discuss ceremony timings. Registrars will tell you about their fees for attending and conducting the ceremony. Venue hire fees are charged separately by the venue.

You can find contact details for the register office. We can only assist with marriages and civil partnerships taking place in Portsmouth (PO1 to PO6). For other areas, contact the register office in that district.

The venue capacity must include: the couple, guests, two registrars, venue staff, and photographers or musicians.
