Northern Parade Family Hub is located in Hilsea, near Northern Parade and London Road. It’s next to The Parade Community pre-school and Kings Academy School. The Hub has areas for activities, playgroups, and meetings with professionals like midwives and health visitors.

The staff at the Hub are friendly and ready to help with any questions and connect you to the right activities and support.

  • Monday: 8.30am to 5pm
  • Tuesday: 8.30am to 5pm
  • Wednesday: 8.30am to 5pm
  • Thursday: 8.30am to 5pm
  • Friday: 8.30am to 4.30pm

You can enter Northern Parade Family Hub through a metal gate on Doyle Avenue. Look for the circular blue sign at the entrance. There is parking on Doyle Avenue and nearby streets.

Your Family Hub Champion

Denise is your Northern Parade Family Hub Champion. She works for Home-Start Portsmouth, which runs the Portsmouth Family Hub and Start for Life programme.

Denise has been working at Home-Start Portsmouth since 2021 as the coordinator for the charity’s Stay and Play groups and Portsmouth Parent Board. She is a mother to her son and received support from Home-Start Portsmouth when she had postnatal depression. Outside of work, she has volunteered at the Stacey Community Centre, where she helped run a disco for people with learning difficulties.

Northern Parade Family Hub offers various activities, such as:

  • Stay and Play groups for children aged 0-5 years, LGBTQ+ families, and children with special educational needs
  • Mobile toy library
  • Courses on pregnancy, labour, birth, and caring for your baby (before and after birth)
  • Breastfeeding drop-in sessions and advice
  • Baby massage courses
  • Wellbeing groups and drop-in sessions with Solent NHS Trust Families In Mind service
