Somerstown Family Hub is not the same as Somerstown Hub Community Centre. But don’t worry, it’s only a 5-minute walk if you go to the wrong place! It’s on Omega Street, behind Ark Ayrton Primary Academy, and near Blackfriars Road.
The hub has rooms for activities and playgroups. You can also meet with midwives and health visitors. The staff are friendly and ready to help you with any questions and connect you to the right activities and support.
Your Family Hub Champion
Nina is your Somerstown Family Hub Champion. She works for Home-Start Portsmouth, which runs the Portsmouth Family Hub and Best Start in Life programme.
Nina has worked across the public sector for over a decade, most recently specialising in neurodiversity, mental health and safeguarding in a local primary school. Previously Nina worked in a local authority children's home supporting young people, which gave her lots of experience of working with some of the most vulnerable groups of people in our community. She also volunteers for local animal charities and has been a school governor.

Somerstown Family Hub offers various activities, such as:
- Stay and Play groups for children aged 0-5 years, young mums and families
- Mobile toy library
- Breastfeeding drop-in sessions
- Understanding your baby, and understanding your child’s behaviour parenting courses
- Birth preparation sessions
- Baby massage courses
- Wellbeing groups and drop-in sessions with Solent NHS Trust Families In Mind service

The entrance is on Omega Street, but you can also walk through the alleyway on Blackfriars Road next to Ark Ayrton Nursery. Look for the circular blue sign. There is a small car park, but parking is limited.
