Having a baby can be very joyful, but it can also be challenging. All families need some help to give their babies the best start in life.

After your baby is born, your midwife will support you for about 10 days. Around 2-3 weeks later, your health visitor will come to see you. Learning to understand your baby can be tough, but your health visitor can help. They’ll support you until your child starts school.

Your health visitor might set up appointments at the Family Hubs. You can also find lots of support on Family Assist, an online platform with a wide range of information and resources for parents, their friends, and families.
