Being a parent or carer can be tough sometimes. It’s important to look after your own mental health.
When you feel well, it helps your child feel well too. So don’t worry about taking time for yourself, it’s okay to do things that help you feel better. If things feel hard, you’re not alone. You can talk to friends, family, or get help from groups that are here to support you.
The NSPCC website has a special section about mental health and parenting. It includes tips and ideas to help you cope and feel better.
There are lots of places, both in Portsmouth and across the country, that offer support for adults with mental health needs. You can find more information on our adult mental health support page.
