There’s lots to do in Portsmouth with our new Visitor Guide (Oh yes there is!)

Cast members from Dick Whittington at the Kings Theatre including Lorraine Stanley, English actress known for her role as Karen Taylor in Eastenders, and Julia Worsley, known for roles in Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables, will be helping us launch the guide this week (Friday 13 December) along with new mini guides in a range of languages for overseas visitors.

Dick Whittington is just one of four shows taking place throughout December making Portsmouth top choice for seasonal activities this year! As well as the Pompey Panto at The Kings, visitors can also enjoy Rapunzel at the Groundlings, Beauty and the Beast at New Theatre Royal, and Curtain Call’s production of the Snow Queen at the  Guildhall.

This is also a great opportunity to take advantage of lots of other attractions across the city!

• Get in the festive mood and glide around the ice rink in Guildhall Square, open every day until 5 January, except Christmas Day
• Take on yuletide with a host of festive events at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
• Visit Father Christmas at the Portsmouth Museum and art gallery, and at Cascades
• Take a trip into history to learn about the story of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy at the D-Day Story on Southsea Seafront.

Councillor Steve Pitt, Leader of Portsmouth City Council with responsibility for culture, will join cast members at the opening this week. He said: “I’m delighted to be launching another visitor guide to showcase all of the fantastic things going on in Portsmouth. There is so much going on throughout the festive period, I’d encourage you to attend one our pantomimes or visit one of the many world-class attractions we have on offer”.

Official visitor guides and mini guides will be available across the city, with mini guides produced in English, French, German, Dutch and Spanish.
