Portsmouth was granted £48.75 million by the government through the City Deal to explore how this area could be regenerated, creating new employment opportunities as well as new homes for people in the city.
The new proposals, which form part of Portsmouth’s Local Plan submission, will have sustainability and nature at their heart, prioritising the harbour’s natural habitats and biodiversity.
Our proposals could include plans for an employment hub, new homes, and sea defences to better protect this part of the city from future flooding. We will also work to improve the long-term resilience of Portsmouth Harbour’s ecosystem.
