Is the contractor going to need access to my property before the works commence on site?

Yes. Before the works begin, the contractor will need access to your property to undertake surveys and inspections. This will help them finalise the design and to take accurate measurements for items such as new entrance doors.

How long will the surveys take to complete?

The surveys are anticipated to take 60-90 minutes to complete, providing access can be gained to all areas requiring an inspection.

Will I need to prepare anything for the surveys?

We ask that residents make the property easily accessible for the contractors to undertake the surveys. Should you have any concerns, please raise these within the one-to-one consultations.

How will the survey be undertaken?

The contractors will carry out a visual inspection of your property to confirm the layout and to inform the design process. The contractors will also complete an asbestos survey to key areas within your property. This will require a small sample of material to be taken.

Where will the asbestos tests be undertaken?

The asbestos test will be carried out in areas where works are likely to take place. This will include the hallway, cupboards and WC. Please note, this is not an finalised list, and the surveyor may test other areas in the property.
