This policy explains when Portsmouth Homes may recharge residents for the cost of repairs. It sets out the circumstances where residents may be held responsible for damage to their home, communal areas or Portsmouth Homes property.
We aim to apply repair charges fairly and consistently. Charges are only made where there is clear evidence that damage has been caused deliberately, through misuse, neglect or where the repair is the resident's responsibility under their tenancy agreement.
