Vaccinations for babies and young children

The NHS offers a national vaccination programme for all children. In Portsmouth, most vaccines are given at your GP surgery.

These vaccines protect against:

  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
  • Polio
  • Tetanus
  • Diphtheria
  • Meningitis
  • And other serious illnesses

You’ll get reminders from your GP or the child health department when it’s time for your child’s vaccines.

If you think your child has missed a vaccine or you haven’t received a letter, contact your GP surgery.

You can check the full schedule on the NHS vaccination programme website.
