Every year Portsmouth City Council provides a summary of the profile of its workforce. Data is published in line with the Equality Act 2010 and also to support PCC’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
The workforce profile outlines the employees, positions and pay bands of staff, as well as their demographic profiles, the retention of staff within the council and the number of absences. The purpose of collecting diversity data is to better understand the make-up of our workforce to inform actions and initiatives.
Our most recent workforce profile will be published soon.
We recognise that there is more work to be done to ensure that the diversity of our workforce reflects that of our city. Reflecting the diversity of the residents we serve will enable us to better understand their needs, deliver better services and to be closer connected to all communities in Portsmouth.
Although we have undertaken work to increase the understanding of our workforce demographics, we recognise that there are still gaps in our workforce data and will continue to work to improve response rates.
