As part of Portsmouth City Council’s commitment to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the council has signed up to the Small Business Concordat.
The concordat is a voluntary, non-statutory code of practice, setting out what small firms and others supplying local government can expect when tendering for local authority contracts.
It is not intended that the concordat gives smaller suppliers a competitive advantage when tendering for local government contracts, but identifies steps that all contracting authorities can take to ensure that suppliers of all kinds are treated equally.
The concordat also sets out the standards that public sector buyers should expect from their suppliers.
The signed document, the concordat good practice guide and its addendum can be downloaded from the associated documents section below.
