Celebrate Black History Month at Portsmouth Central Library as it hosts Reader’s Day on Saturday 18 October, from 11am-3pm.
Spend the day in the company of Britain’s most inspirational black authors – Dorothy Koomson, Nicola Williams and Claire Linney. They’ll share their stories, experiences, inspirations and latest projects.
Dorothy Koomson is an award-winning, global bestselling author of 22 novels. Enjoy a relaxed conversation with Dorothy as she discusses her career and writing.
Nicola Williams started her career as a barrister specialising in criminal law and then went on to become an author of three legal thrillers. Nicola will share her experience in her legal career and how she broke into writing.
Claire Linney worked in marketing and was inspired by “Black Tudors: The Untold Story” to bring back hidden stories of Black British history to life for the next generation. Join Claire in an engaging session where she’ll discuss her favourite ‘hidden’ figures from Black British history from Black Tudors to the Victorian circus.
