As part of our commitment to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Portsmouth City Council has signed up to the Small Business Concordat.
The concordat is a voluntary, non-statutory code of practice. It sets out what small firms and others supplying local government can expect when tendering for local authority contracts. It also sets out the standards that public sector buyers should expect from their suppliers.
The aim is not to give smaller suppliers a competitive advantage when tendering for contracts, but to identify steps that all contracting authorities can take to ensure all suppliers are treated equally.
