Portsmouth is gearing up for a year of events and celebrations to mark the city’s 100-year anniversary in 2026.
As part of the celebration, we’re working with Global Fire Creative to produce a short film that captures Portsmouth’s diverse culture and creativity – bringing together our past, present, and future.
About the film
The film will be around seven minutes long, with shorter edited versions produced for different platforms and events. It’ll be used in the run-up to the city’s 100-year anniversary and throughout 2026, and will become part of Portsmouth’s city archive.
The film will be shared by the council and other organisations on digital channels, at public event, in screenings and more.
Your privacy
Global Fire Creative will be filming in the city and at events from June 2025. If filming is happening at an event, signs will be displayed to let people know. This gives you the chance to avoid the camera if you do not wish to be filmed.
The video files will be processed by Global Fire Creative in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Once the film is complete, they’ll be transferred to the council and stored in line with our data protection and privacy notice.
