Train services
Portsmouth has good train links to London, Southampton, and the south coast. There are four main railway stations in the city. A direct train to London takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Main train stations
- Portsmouth Harbour – for the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays, Spinnaker Tower, and ferries to the Isle of Wight.
- Portsmouth & Southsea – for the city centre, Southsea shops, and the bus link to the Hovercraft terminal for Ryde.
- Fratton – the closest station to Fratton Park football ground.
Train companies
- South Western Railway – trains to Southampton and London Waterloo.
- Southern Railway – trains to Chichester, Brighton, Gatwick Airport, and London Victoria.
- Great Western Railway (GWR) – trains to Bristol and Cardiff.
