Portsmouth City Council (Pembroke Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.231) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 31st July 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
PEMBROKE ROAD
From its junction with Penny Street to its junction with St Nicholas Street.
PEMBROKE CLOSE
At its junction with Pembroke Road.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
PEMBROKE ROAD (WESTBOUND)
From its junction with Victoria Avenue to St Nicholas Street.
GORDON ROAD (WESTBOUND)
From its junction with Pembroke Road to its junction with Pier Road.
ST NICHOLAS STREET (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Pembroke Close to its junction with Pembroke Road.
C) TEMPORARY ONE WAY (FOR WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY)
PEMBROKE ROAD (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Victoria Avenue to St Nicholas Street.
D) TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF LEFT TURN
CHATHAM DRIVE
At its junction with Pembroke Road.
PEMBROKE ROAD
At its junction with Gordon Road. (Right turn only eastbound on Gordon Road.)
E) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate water main repair works.
F) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 31st July 2023 to 24th August 2023 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
G) DIVERSION
Eastbound vehicles will be diverted from St Nicholas Street – Peacock Lane – Penny Street – Pembroke Road – High Street – Museum Road – King’s Terrace – Jubilee Terrace – Victoria Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
